Until 2005, based on our experiences in France, we did not have a particularly high opinion of real estate agents. However, meeting one in Greece proved to be an exceptional stroke of luck for us. Without Dimitri Donis and his team, our construction project would have been, if not impossible, at least extremely risky and, in any case, extraordinarily difficult. It was at the end of the summer of 2005, after a year of unsuccessful attempts to purchase a property directly from private owners, that we spotted the plot of our dreams in the latest listings from Ionion Real Estate, the agency that Dimitri Donis had just founded in Parga. And then, a miracle: it turned out that he was a local, and therefore knew the area extremely well. In addition, he had lived in France for many years, meaning that he had an excellent command of both languages and understood both cultures and mindsets, which proved to be invaluable advantages. Finally, after almost a year of complicated negotiations with the seller, Dimitri Donis did not simply walk away once the deed had been signed. On the contrary, he was genuinely committed to helping us bring our project to completion, assisting with administrative procedures, managing the construction site and resolving the many problems that arose, always with patience, dedication and a keen sense of quality and aesthetics.
